SJFC Equality Policy

1. Our Commitment to Fairness and Inclusion

Stotfold Junior Football Club is committed to ensuring that every member is treated fairly, with respect, and that the club remains accessible to everyone. Our values and ethos apply to all individuals involved with the club, regardless of level or ability. We believe football should be enjoyed by everyone who wishes to participate.

 

2. Promoting Equal Opportunities

We are dedicated to confronting and eliminating discrimination in all its forms. This includes discrimination based on:

  • Gender

  • Sexual orientation

  • Marital status

  • Race

  • Nationality

  • Ethnic origin

  • Colour

  • Religion or belief

  • Ability or disability

Stotfold Junior Football Club actively encourages equal opportunities and strives to create an inclusive environment for all.

 

3. Non-Discrimination in Club Activities

In all our activities, we will not discriminate or treat anyone less favourably on any of the grounds listed above. We are committed to:

  • Treating people fairly and with respect

  • Providing access and opportunities for all members of the community

  • Ensuring that everyone can take part in and enjoy our activities

 

4. Zero Tolerance for Harassment and Abuse

We do not tolerate:

  • Harassment

  • Bullying

  • Abuse

  • Victimisation

This includes sexual or racially based harassment and any other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal. Such behaviour is considered discrimination under this policy and will be met with appropriate action.

 

5. Responsibility and Action

Stotfold Junior Football Club is committed to:

  • Taking appropriate action against discriminatory behaviour in any context

  • Ensuring all members understand and adhere to this policy

  • Complying with relevant equalities legislation, including:

    • Race Relations Act 1976

    • Sex Discrimination Act 1975

    • Disability Discrimination Act 1995

 

6. Reporting and Investigating Discrimination

We commit to the immediate investigation of any claims of discrimination brought to our attention. If discrimination is found to have occurred:

  • The practice will be required to stop immediately

  • Appropriate sanctions will be imposed
